Microsoft Office 365 Unlicensed Activation Error on Windows 7

Updates to Office 365 security requirements may break Windows 7 installations and result in Unlicensed product messages (and reduced Office 365 functionality).
This may be due to Transport Layer Security 1.2/1.1 (TLS) not being enabled in older systems like Windows 7.
